I have enquired about a car on Dubizzle and have got the reply below... Seems weird?

Everything is arranged, the transaction will be handled entirely by Dubizzle, they are my legal representative and the car is at their warehouse in Ajman. Unfortunately the car can not be inspected there because they don't have a showroom at the location and it will have to be delivered to your address. You will have 5 days to inspect it, drive it, take it to a mechanic, test it any way you want. If you find anything wrong with the car, you have no obligation to buy it and the car will be picked up on my own expense. Basically you'll be able to inspect the car before committing to buy it.

This service is absolutely free for you, Ive paid everything... shipping, handling & insurance.

If you have any questions please ask me. If I have your permission I will forward your details to Dubizzle so they can contact you.

I reported it to Dubizzle last night. I thought it would be good to get it in front of others so they would be aware if they got something similar.

997... I wish! Just a run around for the family I am afraid.

Dubizzle dont act as "Legal Representatives" for selling cars. End of.

Only buy a car off a chap who you can look in the eye. If they are claiming to be selling on behlaf of the owner then by lay they must have the "Power Of Attorney" which now needs to be attested by the UAE Courts. Only then can they sell the car. I am 100% on this, I spoke to the RTA last week about it, as a mate wants me to sell his car for him as he is never here. Power of Attorney is a pain to get, but it does happen as many people with load of cash sometimes just want to sell it through someone they know. Still, ideally meet the buyer.

And personally, I wouldn't even buy a vacum cleaner for Ajman....or Sharjah for that matter.

...but do buy a Porsche if you are thinking about it ! : )
Cheers.
