Hey guys,

i need some help from someone who knows how to deal with Abu Dhabi Police..
I got a traffic fine for speeding more than 200kmh on a road without radar stations (got lasert from a bridge)
So far so bad...
Apart from fine and black points i need to bring my car for 30 days into an compound in Abu dhabi.
I have been at all of these compounds now a couple times and always the same answer : sorry sir, we are full please check tomorrow or day after tomorrow..

I cant drive every day from Dubai to Abu Dhabi just to check if i will be able to park the car in the compound or not!!
They did not offert me to pay some cash to get the car `unlocked`

I really need some help as i want to get this issue out of my mind....

Thanks in advance guys...

you can pay an additional amount to avoid the 30 day impound. asterix on here has done so in the past. not sure how much it is but likely comparable to the cost of rental for a month so prob worthwhile.

I seem to remember it's around 100 AED per day.

thats what I understand as well: UAE100 per day so you would pay UAE3k not to have your car locked away

Definitely 100Dhs a day - was forced upon me when I clocked a hefty speed in a rental Yaris a few years back. Most expensive speeding ticket ever (4000Dhs).

But not sure if Abu Dhabi runs the same rules as Dubai. And Dubai certainly isn't going to run out of space in its impound lot any time soon - it's out near Qusais and has a capacity for around 100k cars. When the Wrangler was in there last year for a week (I wish I'd paid to have it not taken in tbh) there was around 20,000 cars in there (with the keys all managed by one dude in a portacabin...).

I think it would have worked out around Aed 3.5k (per Emirate in my case..) to avoid the impoundment.

Do you receive notification via SMS for fines in Abu Dhabi? I was flashed on Wednesday but haven't received any message.

Thanks

Never get an SMS from AD only see them when I check my RTA fie, also according to the new AD a lot of AD cameras do not flash during the day which has given them in increase in revenue

My impound fun and games was the result of leaving Festival City at 3:36pm and arriving at Rakeen's office at 3:58pm...
