Hi

As many of you know, we are in the middle of moving to Dubai. To give an idea of how fast this is moving, accepted the job at beginning of April and we aim to all be there (family of four) in about 3 weeks! Just did a 700km round trip yesterday to get documents legalised at the consulate in Australia. Aggh!

Anyways, I have sent off application forms for schools but to do a wire transfer of the application fee will take days and the spaces at the preferred one are filling up extremely quickly.

This is a long shot but is there any chance that someone could pop over to GEMS Wellington Academy on Sheik Zayed Road with 500AED? If someone can help, I will give you all the details. It would need to be ASAP, ideally today if at all possible.

I can arrange for someone else in Dubai to meet up later this week/by the weekend and give you the cash or can sort something else out.

Sorry to ask this but am desperate.

Drinks, a meal...you name it...is on offer!

Thanks so much in advance

Cheers

James

My wife (who also says thanks!) suggested something:

Even if someone cannot attend in person, could the payment be sent with a letter via courier? I have prepared a cover letter.

In that way, it could be received by the school today and would avoid the need for someone to attend in person.

Cheers

Hi

Just sent email directly to you. Not sure why you did not get the ones I sent via the Pistonheads 'Email' in your profile

Hopefully that came through?

All sorted and thanks so much!

Thanks guys for the other offers to help too.

A round is on me when we arrive (looks like there will be a few of us on the ground in short order).

I plan to search out the back streets of Sharjah for ancient W140 S-Classes and get the UAE-Barge Appreciation Society off the ground :-)

Don't worry, it will have a big engine.

A friend in Dubai is selling his Jaguar XF V8 - but for the fact that we just need some more room in the ther back for the car seats, I would have bought it as have not owned a Jaguar. Goes like stink too!
