Discussion
Thought it might be useful to start a thread where people can show cars which they have found around dubai which need saving and may be of interest to others.
Core information needed for post. Example. And 1st one below:
Car: BMW 3 Series Alpina
Condition: average to poor. Cracked front bumper, wing mirror, paint needs love as does the interior
Spotted when? : 3rd April. Been there for 3 to 4 weeks
Spotted where : entrance to Motorcity from Arabian ranches on the right as you go up to the traffic lightsfrom the roundabout.

How does one go about claiming abandoned cars out there or can't you?
There is a process. There was some Police guy who was going through lists and when a car reached the right date, he'd claim it for free then sell it off - made millions out of it. He was prosecuted IIRC.

Ok, here we go:
Car: Porsche 911 (Early 70's Era)
Condition: Average to Poor. (Mate took the pic so didn't see myself)
Spotted when? : 17th April 2014
Spotted where : Just next to the entrance to "Saluki Motorsport". Apparently the chap who owns the garage next door owns the car. Not sure if its for sale as my mate didnt speak to him. Given lack of number plate maybe he has plans for the car.
Come on lads....keep your eyes peeled out there. Post some pics of cars you see.
Car: Dodge Viper ACR Roadster (legit ACR?) + Jeep Cherokee SRT8.
Condition: Dust, dust everywhere. Didn't check it out properly for other bits.
Spotted when: 12 March. Checked in again few weeks later and Viper's gone but the Jeep is still there.
Spotted where: Al Nahda, Sharjah (near the Sharjah Corniche).

Love these threads... I really must put a camera in my car ready for things like this.
Perhaps a dumb question... Does your mobile not have a camera?K50 DEL said:

Perhaps a dumb question... Does your mobile not have a camera?Annoyingly, the 964 that I hoped was abandoned in the car park under my flat seems to have been saved, but I've just found another 911 that looks unloved, (though I don't know the model as I'm not a huge Porsche fan).. Targa top, whale tail and very very dusty. Been parked in the same place a couple of months now..
