My landlord doesn't have the title deeds to the property. It's a long story but he is legit but there is a dispute between the landowner and the developer. Anyways, last year I had to find an alternative way to get Chili jnr's visa wink but this year I will need to produce this Ejari. So, I can't.

My question is......Can a landlord legally let a property if he doesn't have the title deeds? I'm not looking to screw anyone over at all, he's a decent guy who's done me favours in the past, but if I need to pay "extra's" to get stuff done, then I need to factor this into the negotiations!

Cheers.

Affection plan is also sufficient for Ejari mate in the absence of title deed.

Cool, that's good to know, thanks. I guess I should be asking the landlord for that?

Bingo.

Actually pretty common for owners to not have them, ours doesn't, there are a lot of things that have to happen post completion, prior tenancy for the owner to have it.

Quite a few different departments/processes/locals to rely on for it to work, as you can imagine it goes arse over tit. Regularly!

Our villa was handed over 25/12/13, we were first tenants, moved in 1/10/14 and owner didn't have title deed.
