Pretty much. You get flashed ( or sometimes plod just decides to make a note of you reg) and then you receive an SMS and stick it on the bill. Then, when you come to renew your annual registration, you have to pay up. Very simple method actually.
No tax here, no siree......

1350 for me this year which is average. 2 traffic violations [being sneaky in sharjah, illegal parking in abdab], a few salik fines and a speeding fine on szr. i am pissed off with that one as the jeep shouldnt be able to set the 140kphs off.

Mrs got stung parking outside Spinneys in MC a couple of months ago - Police ticketed about 30 cars, 500AED each!

As someone that has had 24 points in 21 years of driving in the UK (never banned as yet) - I'd best go back to the company and ask for some more money before I come over!
