sadly there isn't really a good way... most people go clockwise, but whichever way you go you will have the wind with you and against you for about equal time...

I think the slopes are slightly more gentle clockwise too.

depends how windy it is and how much you want to beat your top speed record by!

if the wind is sufficiently strong and coming in from the hotel, i go anticlockwise to get the worst bit out of the way on fresh legs. the climbs are worse but easily done in a low gear and you're on easy street for a while after so it'd good to push.

you then get to top 60kph on the big hill! although there can be a lot of debris and sand at the bottom to avoid. touch wood i have not yet had a puncture....

then the back section you have the wind on your back and can fly right round to the solar farm.

most people do seem to go clockwise, so going anti is very good for your self esteem as fewer people overtake you! biggrin

heading up myself friday morning. been 2 weeks since i've been on the bike and feeling all the worse for it.

I am taking 3 aircraft. Should be close to 1 hour of flying time.

No Al Qudra for me last week or this week as I am back in Europe... I HATE these hills! I have climbed as much in the last three rides (a total of 100km) here as I do in a month covering 500km at Al Qudra.

Did anyone get their PH shirts ordered?

Slowly worked my way up over the past 4 weeks since starting and completed 62km on Friday evening - from the cafe, up to the solar park, and then back down for the full stick.

A very strong headwind but 2.5hrs on my (t)rusty old mountain bike.
