Decent detailer in Dubai
Discussion
Anyone able to recommend someone that knows their stuff that you would trust with your pride and joy? Quite close to closing a deal on a pre-loved car and while the paint is good it would be great to get some of the expected swirl marks etc corrected, but not if it's going to come out worse than it went in. I'm not sure if detailing means the same thing here as it does in the U.K!
Any suggestions?

no idea but be aware you will need to keep up the maintenance/waxing as the dust and sand is no kind to paintwork.
could try this guy. read the thread, tries some clumsy viral marketing but fesses up and seems genuine enough. prices on last page:

PS - what are you buying?

Cheers, I'll give him a shout and see if he knows his stuff. Attempting to trade the Cayman for a 997, hopefully it will all be sorted early next week - nothing is easy here!could try this guy. read the thread, tries some clumsy viral marketing but fesses up and seems genuine enough. prices on last page:

I used www.saraautocare.com before on my old RS4 and they did an amazing job. Also recommended it to some friends and they have all been very very happy with the work done.

that c&p article is hilarious. 45days to clean a car, get fked!
who did you use in the end terry and how did you rate them?
I've not managed to get around to getting the car detailed yet. I was thinking of trying Polimar first (I think Luke recommended them?) They seem to have a pretty good set up, and I've found in the past that those that know how to paint a car tend to be the best at polishing them. Also need to get an alloy fixed thanks to the wheel balancing technique employed by the OPC, so will get it all done in one go.who did you use in the end terry and how did you rate them?

I just had my alloys straightened and re-whateveritisyoucallit, due to a few speed bumps and a couple of kerbs.......ok, and me leaving some nasty cleaner on the 20 minutes when the bottle said 30 seconds. They are brilliant and I'm very happy.https://www.facebook.com/polimarmotors?fref=ts
I used express wheel repairs...they even collect and return the car. Excellent service!
If I had the time over the coming month (or if you can wait a bit) I will happily do it for you.
Have been detailing cars for years myself as a hobby not a business, have all the equipment here and only use products which actually do the job properly, however the issue is time. Got family here who have just arrived and are here till the 3rd of Jan.
Depending on when you get the car fire me a message and if I can help out gladly will, would need to see the paint etc before could agree to do it as wont take on anything im not comfortable with. Happy to show my current car (swirl free of course) so you can see how I can get them.

I'd be very interested if you could take a look at mine and give me your thoughts, and a quote. I can't even wash a car properly so would love you to do it.
Cheers.

No issues will have a look when can, what colour is it, how old is the car and what type of car? I'd be very interested if you could take a look at mine and give me your thoughts, and a quote. I can't even wash a car properly so would love you to do it.

Quotes wise as say I don't do it as a business, but just cover the cost of the products used and get me a couple of pints keeps me happy!

Cool. It's a jaguar XF SV8, and is a dark metallic green colour, and is 4 years old. It has scratches in most panels which vary from people smashing their doors into mine, to dheads sitting against it in my garage (the gardener and his mates treat my garage like a fecking social club), and a couple of tiny dents here and there. However, I'm looking for something that can get it looking as good as possible for a reasonable sum, and that won't reappear after it's washed!Quotes wise as say I don't do it as a business, but just cover the cost of the products used and get me a couple of pints keeps me happy!
Payment will be made in cash, as I don't really know what beer is!

Actually did a quick detailing guide on here a while back, its by no means a full set of instructions and regrettably all pics taken on an I phone so not the best before/after pics. Much more of a quick guide as opposed to a full one but gives id hope a few reasonable pointers.

Just a quick update gents...
James came round and started work on the motor on Friday....I must admit I was scratching my head a little after he washed it for the second time....."Ah, must have missed a bit" me thinks. Cut a long story short, 4 more washes, a bar of soap thingy that you'd normally find in the. Bathroom....an angle grinder thingy with loads, and I mean loads, of different stuff on it, another wash ( probably, I'd given up counting at this stage....then a final polish. The bloody thing looks like new!
Totally recommend you give James (Aftershock) a shout if you want your car done, it'll be a good call to make.
James, once again, any thanks for all the effort you put in... The car looks excellent, and looks very nice in the driveway now!
Now, where did I put the Fairy Liquid?!
