What the hell was going on with the traffic? I know it's never much fun, but it took me over an hour and a half to get home from internet city.

Some of it will be because of the boat show at DIMC, seem to remember that it was a bit of a challenge last year too. Seems worse than last year though and from looking along JBR now, its still pretty solid..

according to my flatmate who works at the madinat, it's because of the boat show.

whay the fk this means having to close all major junctions in the middle of the marina i have no idea. fking morons.

the junction by the westin was closed, so i looped back through media city to come in by the dewa bridge. every single one of the u turns through jbr were shut meaning it was all the way back to media city again. fk that, left it on the sand and walked. 2 3/4 hrs to get home.

total fking morons. going to be a fun week this, may even provoke my falling down moment. anyone who is going to the boat show is a . anyone who even thinks of anything vaguely nautical this week is also a .

5 Star Rant - Sir, I salute you! Even made me feel better! (Although that might be because I now know it took someone even longer than me to get home) smile

had a st day at work, then that. then the doors to my building were broken so i couldn't get in. when i finally got in only one lift was working. it was all i could do not to boot the cat out the window when she started calling for her dinner as soon as i stepped foot in the door.

can anyone tell me why they need to close off traffic for the boat show? or is the mentality of the RTA and police simply to go fk things up at every given opportunity?

going to polish my carbine now. stay safe wink

I was sat in traffic going no where fast watching the fuel gauge drop further and further until I finally got to my garage with it reading 22km. Not looking forward to an equally slow exit to the nearest fuel station tomorrow..

Afraid the boat show is on a few days and if I recall correctly, the diversions were on for the whole of the show last year..

Afraid its going to be chaos for a few days yet. They are particularly excitable this time around as they have a very large super yacht in that they are trying to flog for $300M or so. Its quite nice, but I wouldn't call it super..

Took me ages to get out of the marina this morning due to a set of diversions I didn't see last night. My suggestion if its a walkable distance is to put your cars on the waste ground between Spinneys and the Marriott; come off ZSR at Nakheel and head for the marina, take the fly over towards Spinneys and turn right at the bottom of the hill right next to Spinneys. There is paid parking there, but plenty of rough ground to dump cars on, though you need to be very careful as the ground is very rough there now. I have to be really carful with the Lumina and it still grounds out..

Sometimes having an office 5 minutes walk from the apartment is bliss. Sadly when working nights, it doesn't help.
