Just wondered what the process was.

Oh, and a big well done to Belhasa driving school for letting the student pull out in front of me requiring some good braking. He had previously veered in and out of my lane in an attempt to pullout but I understand people have to learn. It was only when he overtook me again (above the speed limit) that I noticed the nice instructor was letting said student take a call on his mobile.

White Landcruiser brake tested me on the SZR. Well, less brake tested and more deliberately cut across diagonally and stamped on the brakes with intent to kill or seriously injure (I'd given him a 'funny look' as he passed me which must apparently have unleashed the psycho within).

The policeman on the other end of the line actually said to me this guy's had a lot of complaints and they will investigate. There's a number you can call: 800-4354, at least that's what I have in my phone from a few years back. They take your details and seem to have your profile on computer so be truthful as you may end up as a witness in court!

I had a white Land Cruiser that tried to make another lane in the central reservation and forced 3 cars out of his way till he got to me.
I think I might have really, really, really pissed him off by not giving way (the light flashes are actually over the top line of the windscreen so pretty ineffectual) in the Z3, plus it's easy to ignore an idiot like that and mucho fun seeing him weave across all lanes only to end up further back than when he started.

I have a dashcam in my car which, contrary to popular belief, is not illegal in Dubai.

Whilst it records all manner of bad driving seen on a daily basis I did on one occassion download the footage of a particular individual (in an FJ Cruiser ... of course) and send it to the Police on a memory stick with my contact details.

I never heard anything back but I like to think they may have contacted him and 'had a word'. Of course that might be just wishful thinking on my behalf as they seem to be very preoccupied buying supercars and boats.

Tappers,
You need to install the dashcam on the rear window, the muppets flashing and tooting 25cm from my rear bumper at 120k/ph are really driving me nuts.... I will pull over when I have overtaken the slower cars safely!

^^^

That's one of the most annoying things about driving here. Today heading to Abu Dhabi, was overtaking a police car escorting a truck with a dangerous load I assume (flammable goods sickers all over it) as I was along the police car (that had all it's lights on so was really obvious) some dick in a Lexus comes up behind - standard stuff - lights on full beam, hand on horn etc. I was doing 140kph and this guy was cm's from my rear bumper.

I'm surprised he just totally ignored the copper alongside him.

Seemed to be a lot of loons on the roads today. It's the guys doing 160 Kph through the cameras down SZR I don't get, I guess they must have a different sort of driving license to me...or like collecting photos of their car.
