emirates flights - any discounts?

does anyone know how to get legitimate discounts on emirates unless you have a family member working for them?

i am too tight to pay almost 7k...

Emirates have recently introduced 'special' fares on staff travel which are open to anyone as long as you know someone working there who can buy them for you (they're paid for with a salary deduction).

Only problem is, sometimes these 'special' fares are higher than those you can buy on emirates.com....

Kayak normally has some decent fares.

Would be interested in this myself as I've just been quoted 15,000 for a single upgrade to business when I rang their service centre. This was maybe 24 hours after the passenger was emailed with an offer of 2569 for the same upgrade for the same flight. OK, we were a bit late on calling them, (Mum bless her hadn't quite realised what the offer in her email was), but even so..

I need to make a few trips back to the UK and would rather not get too badly stiffed for the price.

In that case I would look at BA biz class. Me, the wife and 3 kids are going back to London with BA in the summer, waycheaper than EK.
