I'm sure this isn't news to anyone, but just in case....

The Dubai Tour is in town this weekend and for the next 4 days there are dozens of road closures, including some fairly major roads.

There's precious little accurate information around, this is the best that I've found so far:

I realised it was the Tour this weekend but didn't comprehend just how much disruption it was going to cause until i got a call form the wife saying they might close her school tomorrow!

I cannot find anything particularly accurate about road closures - when they start, will they be rolling etc?

May be time to visit RAK/Al Ain/Fujairah for a day or two?

What more do you need over and above the stuff in the Gulf News link?

The GN link says that Umm Suqeim St and E311 (Mohammed Bin Zayed Rd) is closed, but The National says that Hessa St and E611 (Emirates Rd) is closed. This is confusing for me as I have to travel on E311 tomorrow.

Unless I leave my place in Jumeirah at 10am on Saturday, I will be trapped in the villa for the full day.

Same if I am at the Shoreline tomorrow night...

Its a PIA, I am thinking how many points Death Race 2000 style its worth...

I have heard the same that all schools may be closed tomorrow as schools have no idea on how the buses will get kids to / from school.

Lets just declare tomorrow a holiday so we can all go and support the event. Given that I am in Oman (again) until tomorrow night I will be ok tomorrow and don't plan to leave MotorCity this weekend.

it is Hessa, as far as I can see, think the GN just got the wrong name.

It's the usual, conflicting reports and information between each of the publications. Some state the roads will be closed all day, until 16:30pm, none of them are clear on when the roads will actually shut - will it be when the stage starts or will it be an hour or two before, which is what I read in another location.

I know Repton School is to remain open tomorrow but how people will get in to collect kids before 16:30 is beyond me if the roads (MBZ) are closed?

I guess it's going to be one of those things when we'll just find out tomorrow which roads are closed, which are open, when they close and when they reopen. De'javu of Sandance all over again.

The routes on the Tour website would suggest it is Al Ain Road, Bypass Road and Hessa St that will be affected tomorrow.

I noticed the same confusion this morning, as I read it the old bypass road 611 (new Emirates rd) that is being used for the race, not the 'Old' Emirates road (311) - the confusion appears to be they used the incorrect road name as SMBZ road in the itinerary..... if you weren't confused before then probably are after my explanation...

Would have been great to see but stuck in AD tomorrow...

JESS Arabian Ranches have declared that the school will close 30 minutes later the normal tomorrow! Yes later no earlier. So long as the old Emirates Road to By-Pass road is not closed we will be fine. If it gets closed we are fked.
