my mate's boat is in port for a couple of days and i am meeting him tomorrow. only thing is i have no idea what to do and where things are. any ideas?

doubt culture is on the cards [naval ship!] and he wants to go to ferrari world which i am against. the water skiing place looks good but that only sorts us for a few hrs.

any ideas? also somewhere good for food and beers would be welcome without having to keep criss crossing the city.

What about one of the many Brunches, the one at the Fairmont is meant to be particularly good (I might be there too, not sure what plans are in place). Monte Carlo beach club is meant to be very nice to just relax for the day with food/drink brought to you on the beach. Beach safari is meant to be good too.

BTW what boat is he on? Will it be visible anywhere for a looksie?

Clearly - come and us at Yas do the Extreme Super Lap (what a name for a sprint).

Otherwise, Beach club is a good one, Yas water world is really quiet this time of year and good rides. Its that or head up to al forsan (shooting, karting etc. etc.). Go up the tower in Marina Mall, have lunch at a restaurant in Yas Marina are other options.

ended up wakeboarding at al forsan. found it pretty easy myself, only 2 falls and then doing lap after lap of the lake. sure i will be back to falling once i get behind a proper wake!

my mate was not so fortunate, didn't even make it past the first turn in all his attempts!

rest of the day was a bit of a washout. the port guards wouldn't allow me in so i couldn't have drinks on the ship, the seafarers club wouldn't let me in either, and my lack of local knowledge meant we ended up in the crowne plaza which was ste!

still good to catch up, very amusing day all in all.

Shirt, should have given me a call I could have suggested a few nice watering holes.

Good effort on the wakebording. It's easier behind the boat, we will have to arrange a boat day soon.
