Presumably I just have to suck it up and pay the bill? If I follow up with the landlord/agency there is a risk they will decide to not renew my contract and force me out at the end of the contract, (I've just renewed) and probably won't fix anything else in the meantime.

Wondering if the agents as they are RERA registered have any obligations in this respect? My annoyance is down to the fact that I notified them of the leak and it took 6 weeks of constant badgering for them to do anything about it resulting in a bill 4 times the usual..

I'd certainly make some noise with the agent, they can't just decide to not renew your contract becuase you've pissed them off.

12 months notice has to be given.

Legally they can't, but the chap I took over the contract from said he'd been given a huge runaround after he insisted things were fixed..

I'll sit on it until the paper bill comes through as then I have something to wave under their noses..

There used to be a way with DEWA if there was a leak of not paying, ONCE.
Talk to DEWA and see what they say ?
