I'm most likely moving out to Dubai and interested in buying a car.

Budget around £12,000 and wanting to buy second hand. I don't need to commute miles to work (in fact the company provide transport).

Here are some possibilities.

Jaguar XKR - http://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/jaguar/...

Dodge Challenger - http://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/dodge/c...

Rolls Royce - http://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/rolls-r...

Hummer H3 - http://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/hummer/...

Would you buy something like this? I am wanting something a little different!

Jag looks nice but seems expensive? Not that I have ever really priced them up.

Bet you a pint the Challenger is an import, see the recent thread, maybe try use that Carfax thing see if it has a hidden history

Rolls Royce, how big are your stones? Certainly fits the different category!

Hummer H3's are a bag of ste imho

Burgundy Jag on Dubizzle for a bit less. Know nothing about them, but I'd be tempted. I'd never get away with green though..

Challenger looks very similar to one I looked at for a mate in the last 12 months. Been a write off in the USA and bodged in Sharjah. Get the VIN and google it..

Roller. If I had a spare parking space and wanted to annoy the boss for a couple of months while I worked out my notice, I'd have it like a shot.

H3.. Hear too many mixed opinions about them to be honest.. For everyone that rates them, I hear someone else hating them..

H3 is leaf sprung. Tech wise it would rival the wrangler for the stone age car of the year award. They are primitive and cheap but reliable and chunky. Depends which side of that divide you sit as to your view of them.

I could be persuaded with a description like that, particularly if I am allowed to fir bloody great bull bars to punt any idiots off the road that decide to swerve in front of me and try to kill me. They may be looking forward to the afterlife, but I am not..

I'm guessing the Rolls might keep the uncivilised drivers away by just it's prosperity or maybe not!

I wonder how good the ac system is in those for summer motoring.

How much would the insurance be on a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. The current car is very cheap as they are quite old. I've been told that the insurance would be 5% on the new price, in 1970, that was cheap.
