Off to Austria in a few weeks and need to organise the insurance. However, unsurprisingly for Dubai, the best I can see is on the AXA site. It's standard travel insurance with an added 'Basic Winter Sports' thing. I need to get good cover for off-piste etc... and I don't think 'Basic' is going to cut it.

Obviously, there are loads of specialist companies coming up from the UK but they don't seem to cater for non-residents.

Any ideas?

Try someone like Orient Insurance - they'll tend to put together bespoke insurance packages if you know exactly what you want.

...aaaaaand that was a complete No!

They didn't even seem to know what a skiing holiday was.

Could the travel agent you booked the holiday through help you? Clutching at straws.....

All booked direct.

Anyway - found these guys and they do really good coverage for lots of extreme sports etc... Also, for full on ski coverage for both myself and the missus, AED 476 - which i think is very good given the listings it covers.

Things covered - I've gone for the 'Explorer (2)' coverage.

I used Axa last time we went to Val Thorens. We are off next weekend to the same place and this has come up at a good time, so cheers Asterix for reminding me.

Just been myself and booked with RSA, it wasn't a bad deal but not as good as the uk companies are offering price wise.

DNATA also offer ski insurance, I think they were a little more than RSA for me though
