There is is!
Congrats mate, first Fezza? Must be a wonderful feeling either way.
What's the story?
First Fezza indeed.... the story is that I've gone against all common sense when it comes to buying expensive cars and bought one from a bad advert, owned by a guy who didn't know the first thing about the car yet imported it in 2010.Congrats mate, first Fezza? Must be a wonderful feeling either way.
What's the story?
It was showing only 9k KM on the odo yet apparently had no service history.
Multiple things on it didn't work etc etc
Yet my gut said it was a good one so I paid a crazy amount of money for Al Tayer to inspect it and they pronounced it a straight car (albeit with broken fuel pumps (hence the other post about parts) so I used their recommissioning estimate to negotiate with the seller and came to a deal we were both happy with.
Having done that I then discovered that there were no fuel pumps available anywhere locally and the car wouldn't pass RTA inspection without them so thought we were going to have issues there.
Thankfully RTA also have an ownership transfer option without registration so that's what we did.
The car is now at ARM for some of the recommissioning (the DO NOT START sign is related to the fact that I think the car is still on its original cambelt and no way they're risking starting the engine until that's changed!!
All being well I should have it on the road and registered next Monday

The key word there is "apparently" lol and yes, more pics for sure.
That is man maths at its finest hahaIn all, so far it seems to be exactly what best-case scenario said it was.
I'll know more next week.

Wow, quite a gamble you seem to have taken there!
Hope it pays off for you!
Fingers crossed... I've been to see the car this morning and all is well, mechanically and electrically it has a clean bill of health and I'll be runnning it through Tasjeel and registration tomorrow.Hope it pays off for you!
Biggest concern I suppose is that where it's been unused for so long some of the seals may be worn out or something but hey - I like a challenge!

then you should have bought one instead of a 360 spider! (badum tish!)I wouldn't be worried about its current bill of health, thats pretty easy to ascertain, I'd be more worried, like you say, on how its been treated as that can speed up wear on perishable items that can cost a knee buckling amount of money.
Hopefully I'll be able to see it in person sometime next year, I'll me moving to the UAE with the Z06 in Spring.

I'm going to try and get some of the Japanese paperwork that I've found translated, hopefully that should give me an indication of how it was treated in its formative years.
Mostly though I'm just looking forward to driving it!
Be good to meet finally, though if you move here then you're depriving me of an excuse for a road trip lol
