Driving down SZR and the last bridge of the Marina there was a cop car parked up and both officers stood leaning over the bridge pointing something at the oncoming traffic.

Have they now got handheld speed guns or was it something else..?

That sounds quite rude, however I shall take my mind out of the gutter, I'd suggest if it was hand held it would not be a camera, maybe a speed gun but they rely on the police pulling you over after to have a word

The cops have had held speed guns for a while, often on the bridge on the way to work.

Had them for a few years now. They sit on the bridges over the old Emirates road, leaning out of the window with a laser gun (I think thats what it is).

I have seen a few cop cars with the camera roof mounted, again sitting on a bridge over Emirates road with the camera pointing down on to the road.

Be careful out there, they are bloody everywhere.

Not true I'm afraid. Word of a police officer is the law, they can just issue you the fine without needing to pull you over. Hence the times you see officers standing at the side of the road with a clipboard writing down the number plates of people driving without seatbelt on or on the phone etc.

Only time they need to pull you over is if they want to confiscate your license - usually due to a 'dangerous maneuver' or driving on expired plates. Not speaking from experience at all....
