Surprised not to see a thread on this yet.

Is anyone going/been? If so, what did you think.
Hopefully getting there tomorrow, plenty I'd like to see especially the D-type homage based on the F.

Also the Alfa 4C, the CLK-GTR and a handful of others have got my interest.

I shall be there at some point... have VIP stuff courtesy of McLaren so will probably lurk on their stand for a while.
Also interested to see the Zenvo ST1 - I had a nose around it whilst it was in hiding here a couple of weeks ago and it looks to be an incredibly well sorted machine.

I hope the CLK GTR, Enzo, and 911 GT1 that's parked outside of the motorshow stay for the whole duration of the event.

If anyone goes there in the next few days, can y'all tell me if the cars are there? I'd really love to see them. I don't want to miss them out in case they disappear before the weekend that I go...

Not my pic obviously, credits to 4WheelsofLux.

Just been.

Was a good day out for only 55dhs.

Parking was easy.

The gt1, Enzo and clk-GTR are all there still.

P1 was good to see up close, amazing engineering.

Highlights for me in no particular order:

Honda 1965 F1 car
P1
D-type homage (f type)
Aston C100
Hummer H1
Radical stand - top blokes and a good simulator
The GT1, CLK-GTR
Police cars are entertaining
Hennesy venom
And I love the 4c (still, unconvinced on the mirrors, but the headlights don't look quite so bad in the flesh. I desperately want this car)

The gt1 was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Thought it was a great show. And the parade was worthwhile. Having walked around hall 1 it is fairly obvious that the Chinese are coming. Questionably, but they are coming.

agreed, the quality was bette r than expected and they will win on price alone. the new cut price koreans!

the chinese hummer copy was hilarious though, as were the other blatant rip offs.

highlights for me:

the p1 - simply stunning and a worthy successor to the f1. it was amusing to see how people made a beeline for the McL stand and almost totally ignored the aventadors and veyrons that flanked it.
the infiniti emerg-e - great styling and apparently production ready starting from $50k.
aston db6 and the q dept v12v
the mil spec. 4 wheel G wagon pick up with 8.1 litres under the bonnet and the no. plate W444AAR
honda f1 car
toyota gt racer and the trd cars
s class coupe concept. beautiful lines and a return to grace and style for merc.
alfa 4c - much better looking in the metal, well proportioned and looks great on those alloys.
the devel sixteen - not laughed that hard in ages. terrible, terrible thing designed and engineered, i presume, by schoolkids on crack.

lowlights:

lack of access to the premium marques. aston had the right idea with 1 in / 1 out.
usual palaver with queueing for a ticket to then queue for a wristband. pointless.
the new corvette. do not like.
horrific interiors on the us cars - particularly the challenger and camaro convertible. the 300c luxury showed they can do a proper fitout so why the acres of bland plastic?
it seemed the majors put little effort in. i expected more cars from the 'vaults' so to speak to offset the sea of mediocrity that comprised the cooking models.

Didn't get a chance to go to the motorshow (lack of time) but I did go to the Grand Parade and also see the cars outside the show (Veyron SS, 911 GT1, CLK GTR and Enzo, all stunning).

Highlights of the parade:
Lots of Ferraris (including a red F512M!) and several Lambos and Astons and Audi R8s
Dubai Police supercars out in full force (minus the one-77, it's for sale now)
Three Veyrons, the Vitesse WRC, a regular Black and Blue one, and the Brown Supersport, or as one dude on Instagram puts it, the Poogatti Poopersport.
Lots of bikes and American cars
A Lamborghini Aventador revving it hard and spitting backfires

I arrived late which made me miss out on the three Veyrons :/

I bet you're gutted with how that photo came out. You're spot on though.
