Racing re-commences at the autodrome this Friday (Yas had the 1st event on November 8th). I will be there with the expanded bike team again (1 rider more spanner monkeys, photographer and a PR lady).

speaking of track days, got some bad news on the engine front today.

seems the ECU i have is not at all compatible with the throttle bodies i have fitted unless i spend 350quid on a patch lead and cd from the manufacturer. daylight robbery imo.

given i can easily get 200 for my current [old tech] ecu and a new all singing emerald k6 will set me back 600 all in, that's 350 for old tech vs 400 for new. just investigating what other bits i'd need for the k6 but i feel an early xmas present coming on.

after a 5mth hiatus i'm back in the garage tonight but looking to get a track car / daily driver as i'm dying to get out on track again and can't see the clubby making it in 2013. if you see anything suitable under 60k post it in the usual thread s'il vous plait.

well, the track day is out. There was conflicting info on DA website. One bit said Open Pit from 10Am to 1PM, then another said PM track day.

Called them up and indeed, for cars it is a PM track day. For AED650 you get x2 30min sessions - no thanks. I will however be there to watch Ian sweep the pit garage again (and he claims he manages the team! hahahahaha)

Well I managed to hide the sweeping brush before Steve arrived, although as we have carpet on the garage floor perhaps I should bring a vacuum cleaner next time.......

What happened to the bike in the first race, did it have suspension issues?

The rider clipped the depression on the entry to the club link when hard on the brakes, this caused the front end to wash out (all very clear on the video). Race 2 we finished 4th in class. Work to do as they say. Good to see you there.

So this Friday sees the bikes (yey), FG1000's (umm) and a 300km car race (you bring it you can race it). I will be garage 1 (or 2) with the usual team.
