What is the cheapest way to send money to the UK?

Not sure if it's the cheapest but by way of example I sent 20k GBP yesterday from my Emirates NBD account to my UK barclays account with all charges paid here out of my UAE account.
I paid 141.05 aed in charges.

I used GCEN a couple times to transfer from UK to UAE, i have since been transferring from UAE to UK and my HSBC Account with Global view. I think GCEN would be a bit cheaper but HSBC is instant and the rate isnt that bad

Likewise I use HSBC global view, but keep an eye on rates using www.oanda.com to pick the right time when rates are best.

I also get cash out for visitors from my AED account over here, and they put GBP into my UK account at an exchange rate which is beneficial for us both. Works quite nicely!
