best desert camp/safari
Discussion
my mate's coming out with his OH for the whole of november and he wants to do a desert safari. i said not to bother with the daytrip ones as i seem to remember someone on here recommending a decent/high end desert camp type thing where they could do 4x4s. falcons etc. but also have a really good overnight stay and meal.
does this ring any bells? google isn't helping.

I've been on 2 Arabian Adventures, and the other a work arranged one so can't remember the company. Both were good for the 4x4 duning, but the rest of the day was ste! It was like going on a "Discover India" day. Whilst there's nothing wrong with that, it's hardly the Desert experience I was expecting. Tents selling Indian clothes, Indian food and Indian music coming out of all of the loud-speakers. Not a falcon in sight!
Next time I'll book the 4x4 bit only.

Don't confuse Arabian Nights with Arabian Adventures - two very different propositions.
This is Arabian Nights - based on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi http://arabiannightsvillage.com/

Bab Al Shams is worth a look, more a hotel but it's in the desert and has a Bedouin camp thing in the grounds. Always on groupon
