Not sure if there's any interest in this but I've just received details of the new public display days for the Bi-Annual Dubai Airshow.

Details are here

That's interesting - thanks.

I'll likely be working there for a bit and hoping to wang press pass for photography but if that falls through it's nice to know I can still get in.

There have been lots of talk internally about this being trade only so I'm glad to see they've changed their minds.

Not a complete change of mind, all the static displays and halls are still trade only with the $50 ticket and proof of industry etc required... this is just a grandstand area for the public to watch the flying displays in the middle of the working day!

SO who has been so far? Popped in for a minute (to Barasti, anyway) yesterday and in and out for the rest of the week while working on events around DWC.

If you want to avoid paying to get in, park at the end of the runway just off the road around 2pm - lots of people parking there, including the Police, all watching the show with their cameras. I did it on Saturday to watch the B1 arrive.

A colleague and I have bought tickets for Wednesday afternoon.... wasn't expecting too many people to be there but maybe we'd better look at leaving the office a bit earlier....

Is there stuff flying all week? I thought the air display was only on Monday (today)?

Supposed to be flying all week I think, I'll be there all day on Thursday with work.

Hehehe.

"Do you like our new water feature?"

"No, there was no issue, no water, no flood..."

Well there was no flying today... thankfully I went yesterday and roasted in the sunshine for a couple of hours.

I seem to have managed to take nearly 2000 photos but here's a couple of our own Red Arrows to be going on with.

I'm very pleased that I've just witnessed the Red Arrows do a display near the Burj Al Arab from my office in Media City - has some lovely low flight right over the office.

Brilliant.

Same here, saw them from the Belgian Bar at the Madinat. Amazing display.

Saw them in Muscat last week. The last time I saw them before that was in the Isle of Man in 1992!

Nice shots K50 DEL, what focal lengths were that?

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out myself from the EXIF data from the images you posted. Still good shots though.
