I'd like to get one for trackdays etc but trying to figure out if it's better to get one in the U.K or when I get back to Dubai? I've not really investigated how much they go for in the UAE, anyone bought one recently?

Never had one and not planning to get one in the future and therefore I have no clue if this deal is a great one or not >> http://www.groupon.ae/deals/national-deal/Smile-Co...

price of the white is inline with UK, t'other one slightly more expensive.

best to look at the gopro site to see which model will suit.differences are image quality [Mpix] and frame rate. if the wifi app is compatible with your phone then the remote is pretty pointless.

as we know UAE consumer law and customer service is dire. for this reason i buy my electronics in the UK and reclaim the VAT on the way out.

Wouldn't bother with white, it's the very old model in a new body essentially.

Silver plus remote is the same price as black, which includes the remote, and a whole lot more functionality.

I apply a simple rule for elctronics etc. if you can't buy it in Carrie-Four or Geant it is cheaper to import.

But this actually looks a good deal

With GoPro make sure you keep updating the software. We had all sorts of problems with our 1st Hero3 last year, so much so it went back to GoPro. The Hero2 however work perfectly all season long.

I bought mine from Amazon USA on a special offer a couple of years back via Aramex Shop&Ship, and it was way cheaper than Dubai prices (when GoPro was introduced here afterwards) - so it might be worthwhile checking US prices as well...takes about 7-10 days to ship here.
