Well I am doing a tour of potential universities in the UK that my son is looking applying to next October. So far we have visited 6 with 6 more to go before next Thursday.

Great fun in the rain....

I wish I had shares in Shell or BP!

We seem to be really busy so it looks like we'll be staying put for the time being.

We had a week in Sri lanka in June and we'll have a 4/5 day break to Istanbul in October - we have this rule that we never buy each other birthday presents. Instead we book a short break to somewhere we've never been before.

Anyway, here for the duration.

working 12-14hrs a day putting a site together with little support from above and being constantly reminded that st flows downhill. licking my wounds both personally and professionally. everday is a bh and i'm left wondering why i'm working for this company and looking for an out. thankfully i have some good mates here with which i can ensure amstel still enjoy decent sales figures.

Sweating and procrastinating kind of the opposite to being snowed/rained in in the winter. Bougth a car to tinker with but it's to hot to do anything

Sitting in the garden in blighty - it's a very pleasant 30c. Off camping in the new forest tomorrow. No doubt taking my tent out of the garage will instantly cancel summer..

Sweating my ar5e off climbing around VLCC's in the dry dock by day and being moaned at by a very pregnant wife in the evenings.
So not the most fun summer.

Drop me a line if you get invited to do any psychobabble tests, that's my game..

Personally, my plans for August are to be out of here ASAP. Got a load of work to do today to finish a stupidly specced job we started yesterday and some life admin on Sunday, (document attesting, good conduct cert from AUH police), so hopefully the visa application process for my new job goes smoothly while I'm away for three weeks.

Hopefully less st to deal with in the new place, but if not, the money is better..

I'm an ENTJ Field Marshall apparently. I'm sure you conduct more sophisticated stuff.

I'm a Taurus, don't believe in MBTI.. hehe

Actually, it's ok as a tool. There are plenty more sophisticated ones around, but it's got it's uses..

I'm heading off to a wet Kathmandu, by choice. Somewhere I've always wanted to see and managed to get an extra day off so 4 days in Nepal.

I've been told it's the best place to go for herbal remedies as well?

Kathmandu is bonkers - It's a writhing mass of humanity that makes Bombay look like a sleepy backwater.

Oh, and if you intend to go anywhere out of town, if it looks quite close on a map quadruple the time you think it will take to get there. The roads are absolutely abysmal and it's very slow going.

All said and done though, it's a brilliant place - loved it.

Make sure you check out the New Orleans Cafe - it's an oasis of calm bang in the centre and a great place to chill for a couple of hours.

Having only got 4 days in Nepal I'm planning on sticking to KTM and the surrounding valley (but very close). I think there's more than enough in the city itself to waste 4 days.

I've heard the same about the distance and time needed - it always amazed me it took a day to travel to Pokora!

Looking at the weather forecasts, the waterproofs I bought will be put to good use.
