Wandered down JBR this evening and thought I heard a clap of thunder. Turns out the Dubai Police were letting rip with a cannon! I'm hoping it's loaded with blanks as it's pointing right at the new hotel they are building on the beach!
I live in downtown and there is one set off beside the fountains to mark Iftar every day. They have done it for the last few years yet despite that the first time it goes off each year I always brick myself the first day of Ramadan! Sounds like a bomb going off!
