The gardener suggests that my grass is dying, not through his fault or incompetence, but that is is too hot for grass to live. Given that nextdoor's is fine, as it the patch at the top and at the bottom or our road, I can only assume that the sun is actually hotter in my garden than anywhere else. In fact, the grass in the back garden is absolutely fine!

Would the met office be interested? Guinness? Ripley's mental, believe it or not world, or whatever it's called?

Call DragonMart and get plastic.

Did the dying grass game for years and now got the plastic and it's great, best thing I did to the garden.
We paid 75 aed/m2 and the same product in ACE is 500 aed/m2.

Otherwise get some sprinklers and a timer to control the water volumes properly and check where the light / shade falls.
Also you need to feed the grass, and aerate it, tree roots can also be a problem.
We have had sun burnt dead grass and soggy moldy patches at the same time.

I think you are right. My only concern with plastic grass is that I was told that it fills up with sand (blown about) and is buried within a couple of weeks. Is that a load of ste?!

We have had it about 7-8 months and it's fine so far. However, we got one of those leaf blower / vacuum things so it gets a good blow job followed by a vacuum up every now and then which might help.

The only down side that we find is that it isn't as cool on bear feet as grass in the real high heat but if its that hot then its to hot for the kids.

We still run the hose / sprinkler on it for the kids to play in as the water drains quite quickly.
