Just arrived back from a 2 week trip to Australia.

I relinquished my parking spot in our office basement parking whilst I was away, in the meantime one of our GM's has bought a motor and I therefore won't be getting it back.

Headed to what I thought would be a free sand patch near the Arjaan Rotana and it has been bollarded up and meters put in.

Office is in DIB building next to HSBC opposite the Radissson, I have already been out twice today to feed the fecking mater dirham coins, will cost about 20 dhs a day, does anyone know of ANY free parking locations in DMC?

Bloody nightmare, especially with summer having arrived, already bored of scrabbling around for change and sweating.

Edit - you can't even buy a monthly pass from RTA for Media City, what a load of BS.

Edit 2 - yes you can, 700 aed for 3 months for a DMC specific one however you have to apply for them through TECOM and my company has zero passes eligible as the building we are located in is not owned by TECOM.

Seriously, what the juddering fk, welcome back to the 3rd world Mike!!

No idea on free parking, but you can pay your car parking via your mobile.

SMS "reg no." "meter area" "no. hours" to 7275

Yeah spotted that, seems to be the only option unless anyone knows a secret spot

Same deal now in our part of JLT... with the slight difference that there are actually no spaces available, paid or not!

Magic.

Parking is a nightmare there and I thibk it is 4 hours max on the meter. When I go for meetings I take a taxi now.

Used to be able to park on the strip of land in frotn of the media one and across from the tamani hotel.

All parking in DMC is now paid. There are a couple of sand lots on the other side - ie over by Business Central Towers - but that's a hell of a hike from where you are. Also, due to the numbers of people needing parking it gets full by 8am and you'll be blocked in until 6pm.

Only option now is to park in the multi-storey and pay the dues.

Alternatively, you could try sneaking into the parking round by Lime Tree / AGMC - the guy at the barrier always opens for me if I tell him I have a meeting at Lime Tree. Not tried parking there for more than an hour though!

Yeah, 4 hours max, 11 dhs.

I would consider taxis tbh but getting one from the Greens in the morning is a nightmare, end up walking for miles as people stream out your building and past you effectively jumping the queue.

Yeah that sand lot is half way home!

Might do a little run past the Lime Tree tomorrow morning, top tip!

Pretty sure most/all of it is paid now.

I'm in building 7 DMC and we have no free parking now. The only sandpit now that I know of, is the one near business towers.
