Elise on Dubizzle
Discussion
Hi all,
Does anyone know anything about the Elise on Dubizzle. Looks to be a 111S. I remember someone on here posting a pick of it looking like it had just had some bodywork done.
Here's the link. http://tnydu.biz/DOldHg
Thanks,
Matt

went up to have a look but they were closed. it looked a little scruffy even through the glass.
sam went to see it and it needs tidying up, a service, new pads and brake lines. it has hard and soft tops but no a/c. price is now 49k but that is firm. i reckon it'd be worth half that in the uk due to it's somewhat patchy background.

Someone put a pic up of a very similar colour car/wheel combo with front clam damage from a year or two ago.
So it's worth checking the front crash structure as much as you can.
A good S1 like that would only be worth £9k in the UK, a tired looking one with no/little history would be £5k tops.

If you're after a Lotus Elise S1, I'll be selling one of mine soon.
As for the black S1 on Dubizzle, look a bit closer.... steering rack & brakes are completely shot - need a rebuild.
If you start the engine, notice how 'tappety' it sounds...there's a reason for that, the cam belt let go with resulting mess. It's been patched back together, for now.
The interior trim isn't original, it's missing the roll over cover (so soft top wont fit), there's not one panel without scuffs or scratches...I could go on.

I've emailed you regarding this.

Reducing my Lotus collection chaps. Wasn't going to do anything about it till September when the weather cools
Ultimately I'll be selling X2 Elises. They're almost twins :
Model year 1998
Standard 1.8 (Rover K series) - no modifications, factory standard.
New Aluminium (Silver) with dark blue leather trim & blue canvas hood
LHD. Previously registered with Dubai RTA.
One has approx. 20k KMs, the other approx. 50k KMs
As is normal for S1 Elises, they DONT have A/C - I'm sure it could be fitted if required, as the later cars have.
I used them as 'fun cars' during the cooler weather.
