latest Tasjeel fail!
Discussion
Down at the traffic office in Barsha re-regoing the Stang.
2 years ago was a fail on exhaust 'non standard, too much noise, fix original'
This year, failed due to having the clear 3M heatshield (0% tint) on the front windscreen.
No stickers allowed on front windscreen at all, he did chuckle when I said we better remove Salik then.
Reasoning was the AC allegedly can't clear mist with that on, car has passed for 5 years with it applied and I don't ever remember having visibility problems!
They do make me chuckle some times, remains to be seen whether I'll get charged for a retest, took all of 30 seconds to remove with the aid of a flathead screwdriver from petrol station.
Yup, 35 dhs for 'retest'!

I bought a 350z a few months ago. It had tints on the windscreen, which were definitely not 0%. Had no probs getting the car transferred to my name. Sold it after 2 months, the new owner had no probs registering it under his name.
Instead of ripping it off, I would have gone to another RTA and tested it there.

I only know of the one in Barsha
i use jebel ali, just inside gate 5 behind the petrol station.
they close at 2pm on a saturday, so aim to get there around 1:30. they're used to doing entire fleets at a time or comemercial tickets and don't seem fussed about much. they told me my bumper [the one i had made from 12mm steel] wasn't legal but just told me to take it off and passed it anyway.
if you need a gate pass i can sort that for you.

Thanks mate, I will take you up on that once I have a buyer for the Corvette, the queues at Barsha can be a right pain.they close at 2pm on a saturday, so aim to get there around 1:30. they're used to doing entire fleets at a time or comemercial tickets and don't seem fussed about much. they told me my bumper [the one i had made from 12mm steel] wasn't legal but just told me to take it off and passed it anyway.
