Yep, proper shaking here on the 34th in JLT.
Wasn't going to bother leaving the office but building security set off the alarms so we had no choice.
Funniest thing was being told by security that we must stand at least 10ft away from the building in case it falls down!! Leaving aside a second that it was just a little tremor, if it did fall down it's 400ft tall, I don't think an extra 10ft of distance is going to make much difference lol

I'd do that just avoid panes of glass that may fall out!Wasn't going to bother leaving the office but building security set off the alarms so we had no choice.

I wonder if buildings here have these quakes taken into account when they are designed? Even if they are pound to a penny they designs aren't implemeneted correctly.
If a cigarette can't burn those buildings then I am sure they will be safe against such "minor" earthquakes The buildings here are meant to be designed to B+ (where A is the top) level, IF built properly they will survive a pretty big hit.
This came in in the late 90s so most of us are probably ok.
We had a good shimmy, hanging lights hit the ceiling but no damage at all.
Having lived in LA for a while I have to say I have felt much stronger but this went on for quite a while so was [father ted mode] big but far away [/father ted mode]
Didn't hear the rumble but for those outside it was apparently impressive
