I'm after some standard road tyres, not dune bashing tyres, racing slicks, now treads, just standard, on-road, tyres for my Pajero.

Every garage I go in quote me nice and cheap for a set of half decent tyres (Yokos and the like) then happen to have none in stock, and want to charge me double the cost for a set of Dunlops or Bridgestones.

Anyone have any idea of who has a good stock and reliable/cheap prices.

Bit more info, 265/60/18 H for a Pajero 3.8 V6

S1MMA referred me to these guys.

http://www.msw-me.com

They did a good job on my Touareg.

MSW is the place to go to. Give them a ring 1st and tell them what you want. They will get back to you with options and by when they will have the tyres. Take you car down and dribble over John's E30 race car whilst they chnage your tyres.

Tried MSW and cheapest they had were 1,000AED a piece for Bridgestones.

I'd class between 600-800 are reasonable for tyres, especially as I need 4.

Yellow Hat offered me 750AED for Yoko's but then didn't have any and wanted over 1,100 ea. for Dunlops.

Can you please confirm that your tyres are 265 wide?

Sorry if I ask cos it sounds awfully wide for a Paj. I am sure Bridgestone will confirm the siZe but just thought I would check

For the Pajero's I just tend to try several of the shops off the Al Quoz - Barsha road.
Don't be afraid to walk away and make sure you check the date code of the tire.
I normally end up paying around 700.

Just thought I would update the thread:

Best price I got was AED864 per tyre direct from Bridgestone for the OP's required tyre sizes.

This was for Bridgestone Dueler (D840 pattern) tyres incl fitting & balancing and came with a 5 year manufacture warranty

Thanks for your help Steve! As discussed on email, those are the original tyres supplied with the car.

I managed to screw YellowHat down to 650 on some Khumo's so went with those (why are tyres so expensive over here?).

Hopefully they should last me another couple of years!

Because we drive so much bigger cars.

I bought a set for the MG the other day and paid 249 a corner (Main brand, not sure which but think they were Dunlop)

Try this one for size. We can buy our car racing tyres 30% cheaper at the Dubai 24hr event than we can at a normal race day. Ah different brands I hear you say. Nope both are Dunlop and Dunlop bring in additional staff and equipment.

For the bikes, we can buy the tyres in the UK, freight them over, pay the duty and still pay less than what Dunlop charge us.
