This Friday sees the return of the UAE racing series to the Dubai Autodrome. On the bill are the bikes and a 300km mini endurance race for Radicals and Touring Cars.
SVDP Racing have entered their class winning (doesn't that sound good) in the endurance event.
I will be there with both the bike (garage 2A) and the BMW (garage to be confirmed). So drop round and say hello.

Congratualtions to SVDP Racing for winning their class and 3rd in the combined diesel / 2L petrol class. With the bikes we had a crash in race one (rear wheel touched by the front wheel of the rider behind) and a 2nd place in race 2.
We have 2 weeks to do a full strip and rebuild of the bike!

i left the 'drome thinking a 59 cadillac gt racer would be a fantastic idea. you got any vids of it steve, gutted to have turned up as you guys were packing away.
anyone know what happened to the ferrari? did 15mins at most then parked up. still got a trophy mind!
I have only one vid that I think will be uploaded to youtube when I get home, will them post on the evolve.ae forum. Laurie had his Go-pro mounted on the front and mine was on the rear of the car.anyone know what happened to the ferrari? did 15mins at most then parked up. still got a trophy mind!
I will link it here as well.
He did the course in 2 min 30 sec - a full minute slower than the fastest car of the day - but credit due to Laurie, it handled better than we all thought.

A few pics of it
I think that MX5 might have a slight weight advantage...
Yep. Totally normal. Blends right in....
Setting off:
Completed the Slalom stage:
Looks like brakes glowing red hot - but that's actually an orange cone on the other side of the car
Looks like it's up on two wheels here but it's just the body roll
See
Sitting pretty at the track at the end of the day

4 riders crashed, 1 has done muscle damage to his left shoulder the orher three no injuries at all.
I believe the Ferrari had power steering issues which also put them out of the 24hr race. I saw 1 Clio parked up in the bowl but don't think it was involved in a crash.
Good to read that.I believe the Ferrari had power steering issues which also put them out of the 24hr race. I saw 1 Clio parked up in the bowl but don't think it was involved in a crash.
There was aweful lot of trucks/vans etc around the Clio then. They were there for a while.
the clio was the NFS spare car which was being driven by willie as his had issues. i think it was a gearbox problem which ended his race. also one of the radicals blew an engine [yet decided to do 2 laps with a huge plume of white smoke come out the back and lapping slower than the diesel!].
hope the riders are ok.
having the bikers trackday in between races seemed to work, yet still a shame that this is what he autodrome has to do in order to make race days pay.
