I have a new bike - any bikers in Dubai on here?
Discussion
Hey guys,
I have bought a new bike to keep the GT3 company. Got it last month, put about 300km on it now.
It's a rarer sight than usual here in the desert, I havent seen another (any model year or derivative) in the 2.5 years I've been here. Which is cool to be uncommon, bad because there is no dealer and support is low. Good that I'm aware of what a spanner and socket set looks like then...
Details:
MV Agusta F4 1000S
Power Commander
Decat
Arrow pipes
Just bought some carbon bits (front fender/rear hugger/exhaust guard and other small bits)/tail tidy + small LED rear indicators/HIDs/clear indicators for her, getting them shipped over.
Keen to meet with some bikers at some point in next few months, also keen to get on a California superbike school session early next year. Let me know what you're riding and some routes you usually take in the Emirates! And look out for me...

I was at the Autodrome on saturday, but taking part in the Bridgestone event thing. My wife ripped the Pirelli sticker off last week, I usually leave the stickers that get put on the car at track events on, gives a bit of character I think, but she thinks I'm a dick for leaving them on! I keep telling her: "It's a GT3, not a Tiida!". Doesnt work....
So what's going on with the pretend bikers? No one bought anything yet?

Puts one hand up in saying that yes I am a biker but don't own one (even worse all of my riding gear arrives in December). Still I help run a Triumph 675 race bike (championship winning one to boot), which I will be taking out on the track night on December 28th.
I do take a Harley 883 out once a week in Muscat so at least now ride on the road......
Stunning bikes those MV Agusta's.

S1MMA, you don't live in South Ridge, do you? I see a white GT3 and an MV Agusta in the car park every night and wonder what luck boy owns them both...
I don't have a road bike but I do have a KTM dirt bike that I'm out on most weekends. Not sure I'd be comfortable riding on the roads here - too many unannounced lane changes and general mentalness by other road users. At least in the desert you only have yourself to blame.

Hi Ian, yes - I'm in Southridge, do you live here also?
Its a bit difficult to be descreet with the parking spaces I have, everyone see's the GT3 and MV if they come around that corner!
I usually ride early mornings on weekends, so fairly quiet roads, the MV is pretty loud, people hear me before they see me usually, and riding either defensive or aggressive (never passive) seems to help!

Yep, I'm in Tower 1. I see that quite a few people have started parking their bikes up on the ground level in a kind of unauthorised bike parking zone. Safety in numbers. There's a guy with a nice Ducati 848.
Anyway, enjoy the bike and stay safe ;-) I'll say hello if I see you around the car/bike...

Just bought a used ZX10R here - are there any groups not consisting of tatoo'd harley riders in silly leather vests?
I had a 996 for a loooong time, used to ride it to DXB from Muscat and then relocated it.
Never got around to sorting the paperwork properly, then it expired and I was in all sorts of pain. Couldn't get it registered. Still rode it for a bit on Oman Plates though.
Never got around to doing my bike license too. Sounded too much like a PITA.
Ended up selling it for export.
That MV is bloody lovely though, makes me possibly need to have another Ducati...
Edit for to be making sense...

Better sit down first > AED 850, which to be honest was excellent value for money as we got double the track time as compared to a track day at the Autodrome.
The event was privately organised (they did a 1st class job, absolutely no wasted time at all). I got to know about it through running the bike in the UAE Sportsbike championship. Drop round during the next race day (early Feb) and look for Najati.

Will do - thanks Ian.The event was privately organised (they did a 1st class job, absolutely no wasted time at all). I got to know about it through running the bike in the UAE Sportsbike championship. Drop round during the next race day (early Feb) and look for Najati.
I will be up for a ride when the Speed Triple gets here. A Jap bike rider usually, GSXR's and the like. (Not the "Hardly" David and son crew" However after the hugely uncomfortable Ducati buggered my leg from being so uncomfortable I opted for a Speed Triple now which I am shipping out from the uk. Hopefully flying it depending on cost.
Anyways, keep me in the loop. Am always up for a ride.
