Qatar Mile: 30 Nov' Ph'ers ASSEMBLE!
Discussion
Okie doke you lot in Qatar...
It starts at 9am on Friday 30th November, entry is 200QAR and you can do as many runs as you like, it also includes a La Cigale Buffet and you're allowed a couple of mates to come help you out in the pits.
Anyone else up for it?
I know it isnt 1600m by the way...and they have some SERIOUS cars going (800-900bhp porsches and gtr's)

Might along for a look though.
c'mon ya big jessy! i won't be doing hard starts or anything, just warming it up and stretching its legs a bit, and taking ALOT of pictures and video's...200QAR and you can have a go, eat free food and drink and have a poke around some awesome carsMight along for a look though.
I called in this morning, caught the driver parade and the morning runs until everything closed for prayer time. Saw you at the head of the pack, did you turn up at 5am to get that spot?!
I thought it a shame there was no way as a spectator to walk around the cars that were running - despite asking I was only allowed as far as the grandstand. Some form of paddock would have been good to take a closer look. I admit I was bemused by the low running speeds until we were informed it was all in mph after the first few runs! Should have worked that one out..

I got there for 8.30 haha, it was a shame they couldn't get the the staging area closer to the fans but it's the first time they've organised something like this, yesterday there was a big improvement in organisation from friday. I was running around like a loon between saying hi to mates and making sure the car was behaving and trying to get runs in. I left at 2.30 both days as I maxed out at 148mph and with the headwind not letting up I had no chance of going faster without throwing the mechanical sympathy handbook out of the window.
One of the royals turned up with 2 custom porsches a GTR and a drag spec Supra, they were throwing down something like 177mph which was the same as the turbo hyabusas, lots (and lots) of wheelspin...nobody hit 300kph which was the target set by the organisers.
It was really good fun and I ended up meeting people in the community from all over the world, I even met a few friendly qataris!
I'll post pics and a vid when I'm done editing.
