Nothing to do with the future heir to the UK throne! Anyone know what the script is with putting a proper will in place here as I've heard someone at work mention there can be issues with sharia law if you don't? Morbid chat perhaps but I've had a few things on the personal todo list that I've promised the better half I'll get sorted out and this is one of them.

Only advice to give you is do not use 'Just Wills'. The guy hasn't the cleanest of reps. The wife and I met with him once and were not impressed. We then heard stories from others that he's not exactly above board. No proof other than anecdotal stuff and instinct it has to be said.

OK thanks for the heads up. Did you get something sorted in the end and if so how did you go about it? Is it just a case of finding a reputable company/advisor?

We didn't in the end. We have very little in the way of assets here. We have property/investments in the UK and India and have wills etc.. in both those countries but not much more than working capital at any given time here so we haven't bothered.

I see. We don't really have anything here except some cash in the bank either and the two motors so I guess it's not too big a deal. No kids to consider or anything. Would still prefer to have something sorted out though so going to see what else I can find out while avoiding the guy you mention above.

We had a guy come into the office and do all of ours, properly qualified will writer / legal bod here in the ME etc, will was written to ensure that it doesn't conflict with any UK will you might have (and my UK one was re-worded slightly to ensure this as well.)

Can't remember the cost, but I still have the guy's details at work if you'd like them?

Apologies for the delay in replying, the chap's name is Colin Barr at Lutfi and Co in Dubai

he's on 055 822 5947 or colin@lutfilaw.ae

If there's a group of PHers that want a will then I think a group discount is possible!
