well i've found somewhere to live at last!

dealing direct with the landlord so no agency involvement. landlord seems really sound and i was introduced by my friend who was the former tenant and moved out last week.

landlord flies back to oz on sunday meaning we need to get the deal signed before then, but neither of us know where to get a standard rental contract from.

any ideas given that it's eid? is there a template i can download from RERA or a form i can buy somewhere?

I expect most typing centers will be able to help.
BUT it is all supposed to be registered with RERA which will complicate things alot.

My contract is not registered with RERA. Does the landlord not have to agree to the contract to be registered?

I thought this subject was asked recently but the search wan't working this morning.

From what i'm reading, it's up to the tenant to register with rera (assuming not using an agency, as in this case).

Can i type my own out using a sample from the web? Its the official blue one i thought i needed.

The tenancy contract is a fairly standard form, available everywhere, corner shops and the like.

The 'blue one' sounds about right, I would recommend that you register it, this is with Ejari.

I'm lashed, bit will add to this tomorrow.

Managed to get a couple from a stationers in Karama, 1dirham each. Will register it on Monday although I reckon doing so will put me on the community fee radar.
