I've just had a call from the restaurant to say that they wouldn't be serving alcohol tonight. I thought the Eid holiday didn't start until tomorrow?

Yes dry tonight, until 7pm tomorrow I guess.

No red wine to wash down my West 14 steak frown

Fibbers is a law unto itself, would imagine if it is open it will be invite only, locked door affair.

Do you mean the Seamens club in JA?

Left the Ivy just before 6 after a good lunch... at the time they were covering up the booze and about to go dry. Took that as our hint to leave!

The Seamans' Center.
Single storey blue building / walled compound, just before the security gate to the jetties over by the harbour masters office (the big control tower).
Normally you need to have seaman's book (its like a passport).

I did a trip to Barracuda a while back and the next day decided to go on a bit of a fitness thing - Had two crates of stella just sitting there mocking me.
