As the title really got a few of the lads coming across mid November just on the hunt for a few suggestions on what to do, other than go out getting drunk everyday as will probably end in some sort of disaster!

Probably looking at a desert safari trip type thing as one idea.

Try and get a meal near the fountains at the Burj, still not done that myself, any ideas on a good place to eat to get a view of it?

Has anyone done the Sharjah gun club? Read very mixed reviews on that!

Any other ideas please feel free to throw into the mix?! Only had a couple of nights out since I got here and either been working or flat hunting/moving so not really done anything since I got here!!

Abdel Wahab in Souk al Bahar for the fountain views, ask for a terrace seat.

Any of them play golf? Perfect weather now

How about this?!

Quad biking near Hatta is good fun.

They have a decent selection of quads to rent including Banshees (350cc two stroke) and Raptors (700cc).

Skydive not for me but good idea!!

Quad biking could well be in with a shout though.

On the fishing how many people is that based on going out?

I dont think a goldfish in a bag can be classed as catching a fish at sea!?

Be very good if it was a Tuna, probably rip your arms off trying to get the thing back onboard however!

the guy who is organising it has caught tuna there before. last week he caught a mahi mahi which is a seriously ugly looking but apparently hard fighting fish.

i am not allowed to drink on board so i bloody better catch something!

Risky!

The only thing I have ever caught on any deep sea trip was the sun.

Copious amounts of lash helped though.

Old part I'd :Deira by the creek for the markets etc
dinner/drinks at maidin at Jumeirah
Free beaches close to the Burj al Arab
Quad biking
Desert safari
Dubai mall for big indoor fish tank

Otherwise it is just drinking and eating, drinking and eating

Fishing trip is always a winner - Mahi Mahi or Dorado as they're known on menus are fighting b*stards who'll give you a decent work out. Taste pretty good on the BBQ though. Barracuda are vicious too, but aren't so tasty.

Last time we went out on the water in Fujairah - circling all the oil tankers (mahoooosive) for 6 hours - we caught 2 Dorado, 2 Queen Fish and 2 Baracuda. Freezer has been stuffed for a while.

Fujairah is a much better spot to fish than Dubai, our next trip is going to be in Muscat in November - that's where you can catch tuna or shark...
