Evening chaps, I have done a fair bit of travel in the UAE, Dubai and AD.

What is the general consensus on what the average prices would be for lunch, dinner and drinks for 2 adults and a kid in this place or similar?

http://miramar-al-aqah-resort-fujairah.com/index.h...

The only reason I ask is I am trying to gauge if its worth paying £700 ish for 6 days for AI over B&B.

Over to you chaps.

Mods, please here as I think I will get a better answer.

Ta.

It depends if the AI is for buffet or includes their a la carte restaurants.

Personally I would tire of the ME hotel buffet really quickly - unless it was a Friday Brunch style affair every day.

But if you want 'cheap and chearful' you can't go much wrong with that deal. As long as you drink your fair share! smile

Dan all we are looking for is pool and beach in December in UAE. Any other suggestions, RAK?

I am aware that if beer is included then I can have a few everyday without worry, its not like I can pop down to the local supermarket and buy some like in virtually any other non muslim country. Last time I was in AD it was on business and cannot recall how much food and drink were.

I may email the hotel and ask if its buffet or menu!

Well you can actually. Barracuda is around 30km from RAK. Big booze shop, no license required.

Is Barracuda in RAK? I thought that you weren't allowed to take booze between emirates...Well that used to be the case.

I will have a look at RAK!

The Miramar is a great hotel - we go there for a couple of weekends each year.

AI is buffet, in a room that is often very busy. Unfortunatley There are a couple of other restaurants on site which are good, but cost extra...so are often fairly quiet.

We tend to go B&B, eating late and well in the morning and enjoying the quieter restaurants in the evening.

Beer is about seven quid a pint so if you're planning to be on it you may well benefit.

Cheers for that, sounds promising. Just need to get an idea of what AI drinkwise includes, you know the score you go to Greece and its local beer, local wine or ouzo!

Well there's no local beer or wine, or ouzo. It'll be house beer, usually Heineken and red or white I'd imagine.

Yes, I had assumed that! Just need to see if I can get the tranfers sorted for less than £200!

Dan that looked great value until I realised that it wasn't $900 for 7 days but per night!

You could go to the Maldives for that price.

Zighy Bay is world class though - hence the price.

I'd like to think I've traveled a wee bit and stayed in some nice places and ZB is right up there with the best of them.

I'll do it for 199!

I'd check in with the hotel on that - they usually have a couple of minibuses or Landcruisers for that sort of thing.
