hehe. that would actually be perfect!

just wanting a decent chat to someone re: areas and costs as letting agents here are only interested in speaking to you if you'll sign the first one you see at the list price.

does need a garage, or at least a car port that can be easily sealed [i.e. not springs with the slatted cover].

Cannot help you with Agents, but have you had a look at Jumeirah Village Triangle/Circle.

Those are some feck off large places with parking. Little bit isolated from what you have now, but for what you want, i think it would be ideal.

Phil,

I cant offer any real help, but would implore you not to move anywhere close to me. I feel that doing so would be detrimental to my liver, and would strongly urge you not moving to the part of town that you still believe is marked on the map with 'here be dragons'.
Seriously, don't do it, I cant handle 5 night a week boozing like you young folk from the busy parts of town.

Why do you think he wants out of the Marina!

I thought his decision was based on the requirement for a garage.

That, and an issue with his sexuality

Must admit ive hardly been out at all since arriving, had 2 proper nights out and a couple of quick drinks but thats it. 1 of the nights however did lose 2 days of my life recovering!

Cant really afford it straight away with getting somewhere to live and furniture etc etc.

Handy to know. I seem to be close to developing the need for two extra parking spaces.

i've given my reasons for stopping being a barfly before, but basically the nightlife here is [in the main] pretentiously wk. much prefer racing, boating, shooting, etc.

bert - what are you buying?

Have you looked at Falconcity of Wonders? Went to view a car there earlier today and saw that every villa in the area had a two-car garage with a built in roller shutter.

Bit out of town, but worth a punt.

I went for a brunch yesterday, and sat on the same table as a guy- not pretentious in any way- but he got stuck straight into the booze, and continued at a very fast pace throughout- right up until the red wine started. It was immediately clear thy events wouldonly go one way.
He was crude- told massively inappropriate jokes, very childish and laughed somewhat at whatever rubbish the guy next to him was saying. It didn't help that the only choices of beer were Carlsberg or Stella, two of them obviously decided that the stronger one was the one they would drink.
By the end if it all- after continuing to drink by bribing the bar staff, one of them had to leave before another venue was chosen. I believe that this guys wife may have had 'a word' with her husband as he was drunk- so much so that last night he can't really remember much about getting home- which is most likely a good thing as his internal gyroscope had been damaged during the earlier events, leaving his poor wife to have to help him into bed after he fell over whilst trying to remove his trousers, then sat laughing like an idiot.
Sadly, throughout all of this, I never did find out if he was a 'co-pilot' or a 'co-pilot', but this morning I received a warning from my wife saying that it is clear that this most unsavory character brings out the inner child in people, and it would be prudent for me- should we ever be under similar circumstances again- to not get involved with binge drinking, juvenile behaviour and the telling of wholly inappropriate jokes.

Some people just can't seem to behave themselves.
