... so I now have an RS4 which needs an exhaust to find it's true voice!!

Any recommendations as to where in Dubai sells aftermarket exhausts or makes custom ones?

Cheers!

I think there's a place called Fox Skyline or something like that. Can't vouch for them but a couple of cars I've looked at have had exhausts off them and they seemed fine.

p.s congrats on the RS4 - great choice now get some pics up!

You have not gone and bought Jaques silver RS4 have you???? If you have massive congrats on the purchase.

IMHO, shop for the zorst outside of the UAE. Get one from a proven supplier where some R&D work has gone in to it. Yes, it may cost a bit to ship, but at least you know it was designed and developed for your car.

They made a full exhaust system for my GT3. Looked good, sounded good, and seemed to do the business except for two things:

1. It heated up the rear bumper something chronic and I had to install an additional heat shield
2. It failed emissions in the UK (despite my explicit request that it should be emissions compliant).

Hitch, will get some pics up soon as I can get out of the office - 15 hour days then going home and working some more aren't so good just now. Part of the reason it's taken so long to get a car.

Yorky500, it's a small world, that is indeed the car!! Glad you've said congrats and not what were you thinking it's a dog!! yikes Note your comments on the exhaust. Already trying to suss out the couriers and agents we use at work to do the needful and import something from the UK.

Harris I, cheers that's good to hear that it was mainly a good thing. I definitely wouldn't import the car to the UK if/when I go back so not a concern but the rear bumper melting is!! Will suss them out and see what's what.

Could it be worth getting something from Germany for the RS4? Likes of Miltek are popular for them but not 100% where they are made at these days.

Be a few other big brands for Audi im sure, not a car brand ive owned so unsure on whats what with them.

I can ask a guy I know about Eisemann if they do anything for the Audi. All his product comes from Germany. I have the race muffler on the rear of the Beamer

Aftershock, agreed Milltek is an option and started to make some enquiries. Hopefully will get something sorted too.

Yorky, I tried to find out about Eisenmann and came across their UAE facebook page so sent a message but nothing back yet. So yeah if you know the guy who can get me some info, availability and pricing that would be cool. What Beamer you running?

Congrats on the purchase, keep the stock exhaust though, Tasjeel seems to only get harder to pass!

Yorky, just spied the e-mail just now. Thanks for that will give the guy a call and see what the script is.

Dxb, have you had some issues with the Tasjeel test before? I figured it would be ok I've heard some pretty wild sounding cars kicking about although I'm guessing now they may be locals who can talk the talk to get the car through? Maybe going for a valved Miltek might be the way to get round the test??

Actually while I'm on, can anyone recommend a decent independent Audi/VAG specialist garage worth checking out?

Its pot luck what passes and does not pass at Tasjeel. Yes, if you have "wasta" then you can perhaps get some stuff through. I have heard of cars failing on coilovers, yet a lot of cars that have them pass. It really depends on the mood of the guys who carry out the Tests.

Hmmm... food for thought. I really had just figured it wouldn't be an issue out here to go get something loud as hell (I hear enough of them cruise round downtown) but I guess not. Will see what the options are exhaust wise then take it from there.

When I re-register the M3, all I do is remove the rear muffler, fir back the OE. It passes the test and then refit the Eisemann rear nuffler - job jobbed.

You are right though, I have seen numerous cars being passed and I think "how the fook did that get through". The trouble is, if your car passes with an aftermarket zorst, there is no guarantee that the "boys in green" will not pull you over for having a loud zorst - you cannot prove that the car passed with the zorst they claim is "loud".

As we have said - it really is pot luck here.

I got fed up with the banana exhaust on my 911 one day and went to Fox Exhausts. Whilst it looks the nuts it doesnt really seem to add much performance or sound for that matter. I would stick with what the Audi Forums chaps in Europe recommend and get one which is designed by pro's for the car. Fox is for show in my experience.

All interesting thoughts here. Had always figured it would be a simple case to get a non-res non-valved miltek but the guys on rs246.com say it is pretty loud (loud enough for some of them to change back to a resonated miltek!).

Claire, are you running a C5 or C6? What sort of state of tune?
