I'm going to try the usual suspects (Hertz, Budget) but thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone has any other recommendations for value etc...

Short term or long term? Taxi's are so cheap that I would not bother if its just for holiday or business.

One month seems to be the cheapest way so far - I only really need it for 2 weeks but it costs pretty much the same and I'll let the wife abuse it for the remainder.

Taxi's are a no-go as I zip about too much during the day.

I'm going for a year old Mazda 3, 1.8l for AED 2,000.00 for the month - with Bottom Line

Probably slightly soiled but at least it should have a tiny bit of poke.

I've got a 2.0 Lancer (new shape i.e. Evo style, but unfortunately not an Evo!) from Diamond Lease for 2,015 per month. There are guys at work paying more than that for Yaris' that have about 1,000,000,000,000,000km's on them!

We use United Car Rental, decent enough for a hire car. Cannot remember the costs though.

national always come out cheapest for me and i'm a tight yorkshireman!

it was 1700 a month for a focus, and ive just paid 1500 for a figo/fiesta.

shame i got another flash on the way to the airport last night, bringing the RTA surcharge to 2400AED frown

Another vote for National here, 2500 for a Ford Fusion, the office is nice and handy too.

Also used Paramount who were good to deal with, 2900 for a 2.4 Camry.

no. i was being passed by an old slabby s class who i hope will be the one copping the fine, but there wasn't much between our speeds.

can't wait to get the jeep back on the road and not have to worry about speeds above 120kph!
