Mid summer blues - anyone else suffering?

Got back of hols on Saturday and I'm stuck in the worst post-holiday/mid-summer-blues I've experienced yet. The weather is s
t, my garden has died, A/C in master bedroom stuffed, there are no corners to drive around (was spoiled by the Peak District last week), I can't find a decent pint of Black Sheep or Timothy Taylor anywhere, I work with a bunch of retarded mouth-breathing spaz-mongs and a restructure I was desperate for has been put on hold.
I have applied for two jobs back in the UK already this week so things must be bad...though I'm still not paying any tax and my champagne is suitably chilled so things could be worse!
Any ideas on how to get out of the hole? I usually have a grumpy first day back in the office but this is much much worse than that.

My 2 weeks off at the start of July seems a lifetime away already. Work is like groundhog day, a constant battle between what my team can actually do during Ramadan and what my MD thinks should be done.
Dreading going back to 'normal' hours, really hope Eid is a 4 day weekend.
I was up at Banyan Tree last weekend for a night, thoroughly recommended for an out of Dubai jaunt.
However, I haven't considered looking to move back to the UK, things must be bad at your end!!

Know what you mean, this time of year post-holiday sucks and blows at the same time. Balancing the expectations of bosses in the USA and UK with what you ca actually achieve with most people I need to see on holiday or are Emirati and are the Scarlett Pimpernell.
The only way for us is the odd long weekend, we have a couple of nights at Bab al Shams coming up which I am pinning my hopes on.
As for applying for jobs in the UK, I went through that about 6 months ago and came close to pulling the trigger while in a self-pitying funk. Needless to say pleased I am still here dodging rain/hail/tax/chavs...but mostly tax.

On a serious note I don't know how you do it. I live from holiday to holiday; I go a bit mental if I don't get out of Dubai every couple of months.
My holiday this year consists of taking the last 2 weeks of June off to finish rebuilding the BMW race car and 1 week in September running the car in the Barcelona 24hr event.
I have / will be spending every week of July and August in Oman with Thusday and Friday in Dubai. Still will the family on a 7 week holiday in the US and India, I am getting plenty of WR2 on the PS3 done (feels bliss doing what I want to do without a jobs list from SWMBO).

I also started P90X and now can't walk anywhere without looking like I have Muscular dystrophy. At least I get away with parking in disabled parking!!
If it makes anyone feel better my week in Spain felt like I was living with mouth-breathing hoards of obese dole-scum and bailing out Spain at the same time. A further week in the UK was as wet as the Summer in the UK could possibly get.
Waste of time/money/effort/Holiday days all round.

I finished my 6 month probation with my job yesterday so I'm finally allowed to take holiday - this will amount to 4 days in the UK, cleaning up as I came over here in such a rush. I've then got 4 weeks holiday remaining and just 4 months in which to take them - not a chance that's going to happen.
I'm in a fortunate position where I love my job and enjoy my life in Dubai without needing to seek enjoyment elsewhere. I'm sure that'll soon change though.
