Hmmmm suspicious. Wonder what brought this on?? UAE just wanting a bigger profile on the world stage with no practical upshot to anyone...or preparation for a federal tax?! (tongue firmly in cheek)!!

Probably just a request from the expat home countries to tell them how much we all earn!

I'm alright, should be a cse of filling out my name and putting a big fat ZERO in the box.

Indeed...but I'm more suspicious that the UK (or Europe more likely) is at the stage of introducing a federal, worldwide income tax such as they have in the US! I can't see what's in it for the Emiratis though. I mean, I'm sure many people wouldn't be quite so encouraged to come over here to live and work if we were taxed on the income out here.

Well quite. However I imagine that a lot of Emirati's would think this was a grerat idea. It's only when the expat's leave and the country's Industry and economy fall apart that they will once again realise that they actually NEED expats.

Not really, however, if the Sub-continent Countries taxed there O/S expat labour force, and if they left, then this place really will come to a grinding halt.

Know what, would actually love to see every Indian/Pakistani (or wherever!) Pack his bags and leave! The locals would just stand there looking at each other thinking "err....what now"!!
