Got back from Japan and China late last night, 3/4's of the threads on page 1 are Chilli's so guessing he hasn't got a new car or job yet?

how was japan? did you get the welding glass?

you missed a mild rain shower / monsoon storm depending on where you were at the time, which was exciting. other than that it was warm most days and the traffic sucked.

let's go mental and have during ramadan beers.

It was good mate cheers.

I have the glass now yes, was sourced for me whilst away.

I logged into bookface a couple of days back and my entire news feed was about the weather in Dubai, you'd think something significant had happened!

Work tomorrow doom is upon me now frown

I still don't have aircon on site. The highlight of my summer will be tomorrow at around 9pm when it finally gets switched on.

Again? Wasn't this the reason it didn't race in Dubai last year?

Yes, partly.

The biggest problem we had this year was the HP pump and the injectors being worn from the top quality diesel out here (and somebody had removed the fuel filter!).

However, as part of us chasing this problem somebody else played with the map a few times (we didn't have the kit to do it ourselves at the time). As part of this it looks like the map got messed up or reset to default so she was way way down. We got her running on the dyno out here and were dialing in the tune really well until the ecu refused to play anymore !

sort of. we've had it running since and replaced pretty much the entire fuel system.

however because we'd had duff injectors that were over-fuelling, the map was putting far too much air in to compensate. when new injectors were fitted it was thus running far too lean and losing top end power as a result.

we took it to be remapped locally and they fried the ECU rolleyes

wubbe's job is to repair / replace and get the mapping properly sorted.

I think he actually broke it and is trying to blind us with science.

What Richard, Sam and Phil have done to the car is remarkable given that we have been working on the car in the evenings and weekends. It is just a shame that no BMW related garage can help us out with parts etc.

Like Richard said after Wubbe waves his magic wand over the car we will have a right little pocket rocket.
