Had a Dubai-Day yesterday...
Discussion
Got up at 05:30 to take the dog out. Had a job to do for a friend, so got home at about 10:00. Mrs C was off, so we decided to spend some rare quality time together.
Straight to the Chrysler garage, and I was not impressed, as already mentioned. Was ignored in the showroom, and Mrs C was already showing zero interest. Moved onto the GMC garage. Once again, ignored and Mrs C poo-poo'd everything that was there, apart from some pick-up truck. So, I now had the 'ump.
Mrs C wanted somethnig to eat, as did I ...not eaten for a day or so. Went to DFC. Placed order in the restaurant whilst I went to the bank accross the mall. Sat in the bank for 15 minutes ...watched a local walk straight passed the queue and sit down with a teller. Eventually my number flicked up for a millisecond before gonig onto the next. Eagle-eyed Indian man ran to the counter...I'd lost my place. Had to take another ticket. Did I? Feck that, I left and went back to the restaurant....who had run out of what I had ordered. I was proper sulking by now and declined anything else on the menu...out of principle!
Had a barny with Mrs C and went grocery shopping on my own. Went to another bank to cash a cheque.....queued for a while then presented the cheque....wrong bank. Went to the petrol station next door. The pump I parked at had run out.
I'm now smoking again.

mate, after the week rich and i have had with the ATC, RTA and customs I can only sympathise. has been a right old week being told ten different stories and, ahem, persuading officials to see our point of view.
i also went shopping for a camera this weekend, took two trips as i got so hacked off with how useless people are. ended up buying the display model of the one i wanted [with no discount!] as i couldn't take any more.

You all sorted again now Chilli job wise?
I've been pleasantly shocked after arriving in Brisbane, I've been doing the usual set up thing - visas, banking, rent etc etc - and everything has gone without a hitch or a head wobble in sight!
Not yet mate, but have a couple of good possibilities. 1 is a cracking place to work, fun, interesting, and a place to really get stuck and make a difference. The other is the same old stuff I've been doing for years, but it pays rather well.I've been pleasantly shocked after arriving in Brisbane, I've been doing the usual set up thing - visas, banking, rent etc etc - and everything has gone without a hitch or a head wobble in sight!
Brisbane? Did you get on the wrong plane or something? What happened to Qatar?!
I was in work yesterday morning - thought I'd pop into Dubai Mall on the way back home and blow some money but sat in the car park queue for about a minute before wisening up, realising how tempted I'd be to go 'Falling Down' once in the mall and getting out.
Malls are for midweek SAS style jaunts for me - straight in straight out. I go to government buildings and banks as the doors open or not at all.
I did however decide to sack the cleaner once I'd got home and then spent two hours trying to explain why daisy-chain of retards who passed my call around the office. They'd be in trouble if I knew where there office was...and if I happened to be passing at a quiet and convenient time!

i've done this before, although i am good at realising whilst i'm still sat in the car park of my apartment. i stopped my taxi driver rage simply by buying a car and when i do need to use them i find them quite pleasant. in fact i neat conversation on the way back from dubai mall as my driver hadn't been down al khail road in months as he's used to taking tourists the long slow way.
still, shop rage is my new nemesis, i feel the tension rising at the mere thought of the mall.
