great news. clearly another intitiative to appease the local citizens [not sure why, they don't seem the rioting type] but at least it'll benefit us for once.

Yep. More reasons to love living in the UAE as a petrol head.

We get 1000AED per month on an ENOC card - not sure I've ever even got close to that, never mind if it bought me 100% more fuel!

i use 200 a week as i reckon i get 14-15mpg on a good day. the article says it'll be a blanket price drop for expats and locals alike. good news as i'm not far off getting a car allowance and the real fun can begin!

And to think I felt happy when I filled up in Battersea yesterday for a paltry £1.34/litre thinking wow! it's getting cheaper.

you're being crucified as britain taxes the wrong end of the spectrum. if fuel taxes were abolished and the income tax rate hiked 3-4% i reckon very few would complain.

Nice isn't it when you go car shopping and the one thing you don't even think about is the fuel efficiency.

Thats true, but the biggest ball-ache if you do fill up daily is the queue's to get into most of the petrol stations!

That's why the smart people buy a car with the filler cap on the right hand side!

That only counts when in Dubai, in AUH its a free-for-all.

Do you mean the AUH pump lines extend round the other side of the car, like in the UK?

Yup. The ones I see do. You can pull up to a pump irrespective of which side your filler cap is on.

That explains why Adnoc has just bought lots of the petrol stations in the Northern Emirates - brings everything under one roof.

60% decrease in prices - that means the Porsche would cost AED40 to fill up - £7 - hahahah!

Now can we lobby for the price of tyres to come down?
