Shades Bar at the Address Hotel Dubai Marina is nice. Outdoors, by the pool.

Hopefully I'm in. Will confirm shortly as I might have to travel.

The Hilton JBR also has a decent beach bar - Wave breaker.

Less formal than Shades (Address).

...and they do draught beer

I am up to meet my fellow pistonheaders for a drink, flying back to the UK very early on Friday for a few weeks before coming back out permanently (my 4 week trip became 8 weeks and now full time) but I am sure I could have a couple

i'd recommend you do the yacht club from 6 - 7:30 for happy hour [2for1 drinks]. this is the only time it is full of normal people/local residents and not people wearing a sunhat and shades indoors.

then rosso at amwaj rotana, as their happy hour goes on til 9pm and they do great pizzas.

alternatively i'd say nell gwynn as a meeting point as it retains a certain 'weatherspoons' charm.

i may be back on thurs but no idea if i'll be in a fit state for drinking.
