Hi Chaps,

Any ideas on a good basic spot to stay in Dubai this weekend? Would rather be near Jumeirah than Deira, just basic and quiet really.

No need for hotel facilities, self catering is fine.

Cheers,

Pete

When you say "weekend" do you mean a UK or UAE weekend..?

A few friends have stayed there and say its good. Close to the Mall of the Emirates and a 10-15min taxi to the beach/marina (dependant on traffic).

The latter part of a UAE weekend - Friday and Saturday night. I'll check it out, thanks.

Surely you'll be looking seriously at the Metropolitan?!

sadly to say, the metropolitan closed at the weekend. for redevelopment according to tiger.

the citymaxx is about as cheap as it gets in a hotel without being able to touch both walls at the same time. i'd also give the grand milennium in tecom a ring. should be £100 or so a night.

Is there a Suha hotel up near that end of town? I regularly stay at the Suha City in Deira which is great for around AED 300 a night.
